Technical FAQ

Technical questions about Search Goblin's platform, integrations, data handling, and troubleshooting common issues.

API & Integration

Does Search Goblin have an API?

Currently, Search Goblin does not offer a public API. All data access and analysis is done through our web interface and chat features. However, we do provide comprehensive export options for all dashboard data:

  • CSV Export: Raw data for analysis in Excel, Google Sheets, or other tools
  • Excel Export: Formatted workbooks with multiple sheets and charts
  • PDF Export: Professional reports for presentations

Our AI chat can also perform data analysis and export functions on your behalf. If you need specific data that isn't available through exports, you can ask the AI to analyze and provide it in a structured format.

Future Plans: We're considering API development based on user demand. If you need API access for specific use cases, please contact our support team.

How do I integrate Search Goblin with other tools?

While we don't have direct integrations with third-party tools, you can integrate Search Goblin data with other platforms through exports:

  1. Export your data in CSV or Excel format from any dashboard
  2. Import into your tools like Google Analytics, Tableau, or custom dashboards
  3. Set up regular exports to keep your data synchronized
  4. Use our chat feature to get specific data formatted for your needs

For automated workflows, you can use browser automation tools or our export functions to create regular data feeds.

Can I connect multiple Google accounts?

Yes, you can connect multiple Google accounts to Search Goblin. Each account can have multiple Search Console properties and Google Ads accounts. However, you can only view one property at a time in the dashboards.

To switch between accounts or properties:

  1. Go to your Profile Settings
  2. Use the account selector to choose which Google account to use
  3. Select the specific property you want to analyze
  4. Switch between properties using the property selector in the dashboard

Performance & Technical Issues

Why is Search Goblin running slowly?

Slow performance can be caused by several factors:

  • Large datasets: Very large Search Console properties with millions of queries
  • Complex filters: Too many filters applied simultaneously
  • Long date ranges: Analyzing very long time periods
  • Browser issues: Outdated browser or disabled JavaScript
  • Network connection: Slow internet connection

To improve performance:

  1. Try shorter date ranges (last 30 days instead of 1 year)
  2. Remove unnecessary filters
  3. Clear your browser cache
  4. Use a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
  5. Check your internet connection

I'm getting error messages. What should I do?

Common error messages and solutions:

  • "Data not available": Try refreshing the page or selecting a different date range
  • "Authentication error": Reconnect your Google account in Profile Settings
  • "Property not found": Check if the property is still active in Google Search Console
  • "Rate limit exceeded": Wait a few minutes before trying again
  • "Server error": Try again in a few minutes, or contact support if it persists

If the error persists, try these steps:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Clear your browser cache
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Check your internet connection
  5. Contact support with the specific error message

Why are my charts not displaying?

Chart display issues are usually browser-related:

  • JavaScript disabled: Enable JavaScript in your browser settings
  • Ad blockers: Some ad blockers interfere with chart rendering
  • Browser compatibility: Use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari (latest versions)
  • Browser cache: Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Hardware acceleration: Enable hardware acceleration in your browser

If charts still don't display:

  1. Try a different browser
  2. Disable browser extensions temporarily
  3. Check if your organization blocks certain JavaScript libraries
  4. Contact support if the issue persists

Browser & System Requirements

What browsers are supported?

Search Goblin works best with modern browsers:

  • Chrome: Version 90 or later (recommended)
  • Firefox: Version 88 or later
  • Safari: Version 14 or later
  • Edge: Version 90 or later

Required features:

  • JavaScript enabled
  • Cookies enabled
  • Local storage enabled
  • Modern CSS and HTML5 support

We don't support Internet Explorer or very old browser versions.

Does Search Goblin work on mobile devices?

Yes, Search Goblin is fully responsive and works on mobile devices, but with some limitations:

  • Dashboard viewing: All dashboards are mobile-optimized
  • Chat features: Quick Chat and Deep Chat work well on mobile
  • Export functions: All export options are available
  • Complex analysis: Some advanced features may be easier to use on desktop

For the best experience, we recommend using a desktop or tablet for detailed analysis, but mobile is great for quick checks and basic insights.

What are the system requirements?

Search Goblin is a web-based application with minimal system requirements:

  • Internet connection: Stable broadband connection recommended
  • RAM: 4GB minimum, 8GB recommended for large datasets
  • Screen resolution: 1024x768 minimum, 1920x1080 recommended
  • Operating system: Windows, macOS, or Linux (any modern OS)
  • Browser: Modern browser with JavaScript enabled

No software installation required - everything runs in your browser.

Data Limitations & Quotas

Are there limits on how much data I can analyze?

Search Goblin has some practical limits based on Google's APIs and performance considerations:

  • Search Console data: Limited by Google's data retention (16 months)
  • Query limits: Google limits queries to 1,000 per day per property
  • Export limits: Large exports may be limited to prevent timeouts
  • Analysis limits: Very large datasets may take longer to process

For most users, these limits won't be an issue. If you hit limits, try:

  • Using shorter date ranges
  • Applying filters to reduce data size
  • Exporting data in smaller chunks
  • Contacting support for assistance with large datasets

Why can't I see data for very recent dates?

Google Search Console has a 2-3 day delay for data availability. This is normal and not a Search Goblin limitation:

  • Today's data: Not available until 2-3 days later
  • Yesterday's data: May be incomplete or unavailable
  • Weekend data: May take longer to process
  • Holiday periods: May have additional delays

This delay is consistent across all tools that use Google Search Console data, including Google's own interface.

Can I analyze data from before I connected my account?

Yes, but with limitations:

  • Historical data: You can analyze up to 16 months of historical data
  • Data availability: Depends on when your property was added to Search Console
  • Data completeness: Older data may be less detailed than recent data
  • Processing time: Large historical datasets may take longer to load

To access historical data, simply select a date range that includes the period you want to analyze. The data will be loaded automatically if it's available in Google Search Console.
